110 Edward was coronated June 8,900, at Kingston-Thames. His kingship was contested by Ethelwold, but Edward defeated him in 909. A renowned fighter, he renewed conflict with the Danes in 909. He died July 17, 924. (Everyday Life in the Middle

136 George Perry, born 4/3/1869 in Grenfell NSW, moved with his family to live in Parkes. After the death of brother in law John Quinn in 1895, he was stayed with his sister Sophia at Billabong Creek and may have worked in the Mill. At the time of the house fire he was able to escape from his room on the ground floor while his sisters and the children perished on the upper floor. George moved to Sydney where he had a stationary shop in Philip St, near Bent St. He never married, but was engaged to a German girl, till they broke up around the time of WW1. He tried to volunteer aged around 45 for the army in WW1, but was rejected because of eyesight. In 1918 during the big strike, George became a volunteer at Railway workshop in Redfern.
He died 23/9/1933 in Sydney, and was buried at Northern Suburbs Cemetery.
