WEDDINGS
McWILLIAM—LINKS.
St. John's Church of England, Cowra, was the scene of a very interesting function on Wednesday evening, when the wedding was solemnised of Miss Ruby, youngest daughter of Mrs. K. Links and the late Peter Links, of Cowra, and Mr. Keith Malcolm McWilllam, third son of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. McWilliam, of "Malvern," Manly.
The sacred edifice was very prettily decorated by the friends of the bride, and so large was the attendance that at an early hour it was impossible for many of those who wished to be present to obtain admission, having to be satisfied with seeing the popular bride as she left the Church.
The bride, who looked charming in a frock of Chantilly lace, over white satin, very full skirt, falling in peaks, had a train of Limerick lace over flesh colored tulle, wore a veil lent by the bridegroom's sister (Mrs. Black, of Manly), and was given away by her brother (Mr. Ernest Links). She carried a bouquet of orchids, pink carnations and hyacinths.
The bridesmaids (Misses McWilliam and Ruth Baynes) wore frocks of pink georgette, ankle length, with picture hats to tone. Their bouquets were of pink carnations, forget-me-nots and camelias.
Mr. "Bob." Corp was best man and Mr. Glenmerry groomsman.
During the signing of the register Mrs. Robertson (sister of the bridegroom) sang "My Prayer."
A reception was later held at the Masonic Hall, where the guests were received by the bride's mother, who wore a model frock of black georgette, and carried a posey of red carnations and fuchsias. The bridegroom's mother was frocked in a coffee colored lace ensemble, and carried a posey of wallflowers and autumn leaves.
The bride's travelling dress was a navy blue ensemble. The honeymoon is being spent in New Zealand, Mr. and Mrs. K. S. McWillliams sailing by the 'Ulimaroa." Their future home will be at Seaforth, Manly.
The bride's gift to the bridegroom was a fitted travelling case, while the bridegroom's gift to the bride was a double Stonemarten fur, and to the bridesmaids a long string of crystals and evening bags each.
